Are you gung ho for gumbo? Down by the Cajun Corner is where it's at! Mike suggested we try this place and see if it was as good as the reviews say.
    YEP!
We started with the seafood egg rolls. Crispy deliciousness! We shared the Specialty Gumbo that was chock full of veggies, crawfish, chicken, sausage and shrimp. It was Cajun comfort food that would be extra tasty on a cold day.
Mike tried the Étouffée, a lovely creamy concoction of shrimp, crawfish and catfish on top of white rice. It was amazing! I was wishing that I had gotten that instead, but I tried the Specialty Loaded Blackened Catfish. Don't get me wrong, that was yummy as well. A little too spicy for my liking though; however, Mike thought it was just right.
We ended the meal with an order of bread pudding. Moist, chewy cinnamony goodness that quickly squashed my regret of missing out on a cinnamon roll at the fair this year.
Cajun Corner on Council has been open for about a year and a half. Although it's a walk-up counter service, the staff was friendly and helpful with their menu items. We were informed that they're about to open a new location on 23rd street with new menu items and a full bar.
We will definitely return when we're craving a little "Ayyyyeeee"!

I'm always looking for new food places to try and this one happened to be by my boyfriends job so we went during our lunch hour. They were running some specials that day so we ended up ordering Cajun fries and their blackened catfish platter and sharing both items.

I liked both items but what really did it for me was the flavor of the blackened catfish, it was seasoned well and paired nicely with the rice it came with. The fried were also good but very very heavy for me. The portions were also a little small for the price but I would say it would be a good meal or light dinner.

Overall I would definitely come here again and I would recommend it to friends and family. This local joint is something that I would come back and eat when I'm in the mood for Cajun food.

Ordered in from Postmates, and wasn't disappointed. They were quick, and the food was good. The shrimp and oysters were great, but my one real complaint is that I asked for extra cocktail sauce and they gave me one half full small container. The Philly Cheese Steak was surprisingly good. It looked disappointing, like it was just shaved beef, but it was actually quite tasty. The fires were great as well.

Overall, it's good food, but expect to get cheated on cocktail sauce.

Good food and friendly service, a little on the dirty side in the dining area. We had shrimp poboy which was excellent, loaded crawfish fries that was our favorite and fried oyster basket that was way over cooked. All in all very good food.

My daughter and I ordered the deep-fried chicken gizzards from the appetizer menu. The dipping sauce had a distinct jalapeño flair to it, minus the heat. Very tasty!
I ordered a crawfish Po boy that was well-prepared. The bread had crispy edges, soft centers, topped with fresh coleslaw and an abundance of crawfish. My daughter had the crawfish etouffée which came in a bowl atop white rice. The étouffée had crawfish, shrimp and catfish. Wow! It was delicious. EveThe service was tops.  Which is a nice change. We were greeted promptly our meal arrived within 10 minutes after ordering, and they continually checked on our well-being. This was our first visit but certainly not our last.

Returned with my mother. It was a HUGE hit with her. Updated photos of our lunch.
